Dear Nepali Community,
On behalf of the executive committee of Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA), I would like to invite you to join the first Nepali national convention 2018 in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL from August 31 to September 2, 2018. With the success of our previous 13 conventions with our partner organization ANMA.
I am very much positive that this convention will be even more successful in bringing together a greater number of Nepalese friends and families living in North America and beyond.
Our culture is thousands of years old, rich in values and inclusive of all people. While it is also important to assimilate with other cultures, some of our original values such as respecting the seniors, loving everyone, helping people in need, will never be outdated. We can give so much to the world through our culture if we work together. With the growing population of the younger generation of Nepalese origin in the USA, we have a duty of preserving our golden values and passing them on to the younger ones. While we have been very successful in bringing together Nepalese diaspora and promoting our culture and heritage in the previous conventions, I believe, we can accomplish even more towards this goal if we extend our hands with organizations having similar goals.
I am highly appreciative of all the NASeA’s executive team, convention co-chairs, and task force members for their endless hard work and dedication so far. The entire convention team has brought the volunteerism to the even higher level among the entire Nepali community in North America. I am confident that we will prove a national convention is a next step and the right step toward our mission. With this wider and inclusive vision, we will offer more productive, informative and entertaining programs to the participants. So, let’s make this collaboration of NASeA with ANMA, ANA, and many other Nepalese organizations a national convention to remember.
In this convention, we will have a lot to share with each other, lot to learn from each other, and more importantly, make our bond stronger together. I, therefore, kindly request all of the Nepali Americans living in the southeast region and beyond to go to Chicago during the Labor Day weekend and make this convention a grand success. Thank you and see you all in Chicago.
