For
Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA)

July 28, 2018

Association of Nepalese in Midwest America Election Committee invites nominations from its members to serve in following positions for a two-year term.

The nominations are available for the following positions:

  • President  – 1
  • Sr. Vice President – 1
  • Vice President – 2
  • General Secretary – 1
  • Joint Secretary – 1
  • Treasurer – 1
  • News Letter Editor – 1
  • Members – 12 positions

The election of the above mentioned positions are conducted by following ANMA rules and By-laws

Interested members can either self-nominate or nominate other individuals who are members of the Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA)  as of  August 15th-2018 or earlier. Nominations must be received by the Election Committee by August 19th, 2018 for consideration.

Nominations must be submitted by following the guidelines and procedures as described below.

The nominee must:
1. Be an ANMA  member in good standing.
2. Have attained the age of 18 years.
3. Have been an ANMA member by August 15th, 2018

Nomination procedures:

While submitting a nomination, the following procedures must be followed:

1.   One individual is eligible to compete for only one position.
2.   A nominator can send a nomination for one or more positions.
3.   The following information about the nominator must be provided:

c. Valid e-mail address:
d. Verifiable phone number:
e. Member before August 15th, 2014
4.  The position or positions being nominated must be clearly specified.
5.  The following details for each nominee must be provided :

e.   Verifiable phone number:

6.  A statement must be provided by the nominator that, to his/her best knowledge, the nominee is eligible for the position according to the nomination guidelines described above and in the bylaws.
7.  The nomination must be submitted no later than August 19, 2018.
8.  The nomination must be submitted to the correct e-mail address at rkhatiwada@aol.com
9.  Only nominations sent to the e-mail address in #8 above will be considered by the Election Committee. Any e-mail with questions or comments about the nomination process and the election will not be entertained or replied.

Cultural Program Registration

Cultural Program Rules and Guidelines

  1. The performance must be in Nepali and Nepali sub-culture.
  2. There is no age limit for the performers.
  3. You must complete the registration and send us a link of your past performances no later than July 22.
  4. Pre-screening will be done based on the performance submitted, prior to finalizing the program. The most important selection criteria arecultural diversity and group performances.
  5. It is recommended that the performers select new popular songs instead of commonly used songs that have been used in the past events. Re-mix songs are allowed.
  6. The categories of performancesare: dance, song, instrumental music, and any other unique talents.
  7. Any other talents could include acting/theatre, imitation/mimicry, martial arts, gymnastics etc., but the performance should be completed within 5 minutes.
  8. If you require background music to be played during your performance, you must provide us your music no later than July 22. Music should be sent by using media link in the registration form.
  9. Provide at least two to three song choices to avoid duplication.
  10. Program acceptance period is July 22-29, during this period, pre-screening process will be completed and the participants will be contacted and notified.
  11. It is recommended that the performers use relevant dress code to reflect Nepali tradition. However, in some instances, dress code can be modified according to the nature of the program, but must be respectful.

The maximum time limit for each entry will be strictly enforced as specified below

  • Group Dance,7 minutes
  • Solo Dance,5 minutes
  • Vocal Music,5 minutes
  • Instrumental Music,5 minutes
  • Other Talents,5 minutes

About The Convention

Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA), Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA) and Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA) are pleased to inform that we have decided to come together, and hold the first National convention on the 2018 Labor Day weekend in Chicago, IL. We believe that working together we can serve our community more effectively and efficiently. Our combined effort in identifying the contemporary issues faced by community members and our joint effort in addressing these is the need of our time. Increasing the participation of new generation, providing them a national platform for discussing the opportunities and issues that they encounter in their everyday life are of paramount importance to us. We need a new vision, a new mission and new programs to cater to the needs of growing communities.
